Which ISP should I choose for bulk emailing?
Several of the
larger ISPs such as AOL, CompuServe, MSN, and Prodigy along with most of
the free ISP's such as Juno, WorldShare, EarthLink, NetZero are set up as
intranets (as opposed a true internet connection), and have installed
filters to try to prohibit users from sending bulk email. Many large isp's
such as Comcast, South West Bell, SBC Global will allow you to send email but may
limit the number you can send in a day. The best solution is to sign up for
our unlimited mail server or use your own hosting account
mail server. Mass e-Mailer also has its own built in mail server that will allow you to send email from your
PC and bypass your ISP
Why is Mass Mailer
not sending email?
There are two
ways to sending emails with - connecting directly to the recipient's mail
server or using your own mail server or your ISP's. Most of the time this is the same
SMTP server settings you are using for Outlook. If you are not sure just call your
ISP and ask them for their out going mail server name, your user name and
password to access the server. Mass Mailer works with all types of mail
servers. Should you have a problem connecting please contact us.
Check to make sure that your firewall
allows Mass Mailer to connect, or check with your ISP to see if they are blocking port 25 or 80
How do I send html emails?
Mass Mailer
is very capable of sending HTML emails. It does require some knowledge of
html, but most important you will need to load your images on your web server.
To load an HTML message first save your file in HTML format. Next go to
"New Message".
Click on "File" then "Import
from file".
From the file open window
locate the folder and html file that was created. Highlight the file and click "open".
Your html file will then import into Mass Mailer ready to send.
What can affect the speed of sending my emails?
When
Mass Mailer was developed, we tried it out on several
different ISP's. On the dial-up 56k connection that we used, we were able
to send emails at the rate of just over 50,000 per hour. However, every
ISP is different, and there are many factors within the ISP's system that
can affect the speed at which you are able to send emails including ISP
filters, bandwidth, internet traffic, mail server congestion, etc. Another
thing that can slow it's speed down is some ISP's mail server programs run
at a slower pace than others. Some mail servers will allow 50,000 emails
or more per hour through their system, others may only allow 2,500 - this
is the most common problem that will slow down.
